Visions From The North with

Etienne
Geoffroy-Gagnon

Meet Etienne Geoffroy-Gagnon, the name synonymous with high-altitude innovation.

Some athletes follow the line. Etienne Geoffrey-Gagnon redraws it. A Canadian Olympian and freeride skier, he moves with instinct, courage, and a drive to push past what’s possible.

From the wide-open silence of the Yukon emerged Etienne Geoffroy-Gagnon - a freestyle skier who arrived to the sport later than most, but rose with remarkable speed. A teenager when he first committed to the jumps and rails, Etienne carried the grit of the North into every run, earning his place on the Canadian National Team and claiming Nor-Am victories in slopestyle. Etienne’s story reaches beyond results: Visions From The North is a portrait of an athlete chasing possibility, redefining himself as the montains continue to shape who he becomes.

“In freestyle skiing, doing a new trick or learning a new trick can be pretty dangerous. But there’s a lot of things that are in your control. All the reps you do prior – you have to remember that when you are trying that trick for the first time.”

“Even though it’s not a very
controlled environment and
you’re still dealing with
external factors, you have to
bring it back to your preparation
and what you know you can do.”

Visions From the North is an 8-minute artistic biopic that follows Etienne as he faces the end of his competitive career with Team Canada and struggles to redefine himself beyond sport. Set against the mountains of British Columbia and the Yukon, the film weaves together ski culture, everyday challenges, and quiet moments of reflection to reveal a story of perseverance, vulnerability, and self-discovery.
