Flying through the air backwards in 80km/h – free skiing is not for the fearful. Last week, the biggest competition in extreme sports visited Scandinavia and a sun-drenched Oslo. The elite jumpers of the world were flown in to compete for the prestigious medals in a format where one little mistake not only will cost you your score, but potentially even place you in a world of danger. After a final that can only be described as mayhem, an 18-year-old hometown skier raised the gold in front of family, friends and the entire world of extreme sports.
Congratulations to your big win at X Games! How does it feel winning one of the biggest competitions of the sport in your hometown in front of your family and friends?
Winning X in front of family and friends was totally insane! I had such an amazing support from my family and it almost felt like riding in front of a big group of people from my past. I feel great with the win and my first x-games medal, I’m very happy to say the least.
